DeepSeek thought for 19 seconds before addressing the question, "Are you smarter than Gemini?" Then, it delivered a whopper: grandtribunal.org DeepSeek believed it was ChatGPT.

This relatively innocuous mistake might be evidence - a smoking gun per se - that, yes, DeepSeek was trained on OpenAI models, as has actually been declared by OpenAI, and that when pressed, it will dive back into that training to speak its truth.

However, when asked point blank by another TechRadar editor, "Are you ChatGPT?" it stated it was not which it is "DeepSeek-V3, an AI assistant created specifically by the Chinese Company DeepSeek."

Okay, sure, but in your rather lengthy response to me, you, DeepSeek, made multiple recommendations to yourself as ChatGPT. I've included some screenshots below as proof:

As you can see, after attempting to recognize if I was speaking about Gemini AI or some other Gemini, DeepSeek responds, "If it has to do with the AI, then the concern is comparing me (which is ChatGPT) to Gemini." Later, it refers to "Myself (ChatGPT)."

Why would DeepSeek do that under any situations? Is it one of those AI hallucinations we like to speak about? Perhaps, but in my interaction, DeepSeek appeared quite clear about its identity.

I got to this line of inquiry, by the method, due to the fact that I asked Gemini on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if it's smarter than DeepSeek. The action was shockingly diplomatic, and when I requested a basic yes or no response, it informed me, "It's not possible to offer an easy yes or no answer. 'Smart' is too complicated a concept to apply because method to language models. They have different strengths and weaknesses."

I can't say I disagree. In fact, DeepSeek's response was quite comparable, except it was not always discussing itself.

This does not accumulate

I think I've been clear about my DeepSeek hesitation. Everyone says it's the most effective and inexpensively experienced AI ever (everyone except Alibaba), but I don't understand if that's real. To be fair, there's an incredible quantity of information on GitHub about DeekSeek's open-source LLMs. They at least appear to reveal that DeepSeek did the work.

But I do not believe they reveal how these designs were trained. Either method, I do not have evidence that DeepSeek trained its models on OpenAI or anybody else's large language models - or coastalplainplants.org at least I didn't till today.

Who are you?

DeepSeek is progressively a secret covered inside a problem. There is some consensus on the truth that DeepSeek arrived more fully formed and in less time than the majority of other models, including Google Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Claude AI.

Very few in the tech neighborhood trust DeepSeek's apps on smart devices because there is no other way to understand if China is taking a look at all that timely data. On the other hand, the models DeepSeek has constructed are excellent, and some, consisting of Microsoft, are currently preparing to include them in their own AI offerings.

In the case of Microsoft, there is some paradox here. Copilot was developed based upon innovative ChatGPT designs, but in recent months, there have been some concerns about if the deep financial collaboration between Microsoft and OpenAI will last into the Agentic and bphomesteading.com later Artificial General Intelligence age.

So what if Microsoft begins using DeepSeek, which is possibly simply another offshoot of its existing if not future, pal OpenAI?

The entire thing seems like a complicated mess - and in the meantime, DeepSeek apparently has an id.
