The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pushed up the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
